Windows Story Remix’s key features finally making it’s way

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is right around the corner and Microsoft already started working next major update for OS. They also released first Windows 10 Redstone 4 build for Skip Ahead insiders from development branch.

In case if you missed it Story Remix feature won’t be showing up completely with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Some of it’s core functionality will be missing such as 3D objects. In other words the ability to import 3D objects and effects to the story will not be available. But now we are hearing reports that upcoming Redstone 4 build will finally bring key features of Story Remix.

As reported by Aggiornamenti Lumia Microsoft successfully implemented some core feature of Story Remix and it will be available soon. Chris Pratley Corporate VP for Story Remix at Microsoft also confirmed this news on Twitter.

At Build 2017 Microsoft introduced Story Remix feature along with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Story Remix uses Microsoft Graph to automatically create Memories with your photos and videos. Windows Story Remix functionality allow users to create a short video clip right from existing photos and videos. User will also able to add different cinematic transitions effects, text and soundtracks, themes, 3D objects and more.

Story Remix feature supposed to have a standalone app but company integrated it inside the Microsoft Photos app. Hopefully company will fork the development of app or introduce it as an Add-on to Microsoft Photos app with Windows 10 Redstone 4. But right now company’s focus will remain on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update’s public roll out which is scheduled for October 17.

How would you like to use Windows Story Remix functionality in Windows 10? In Microsoft Photos app, or a standalone app or an add-on to Microsoft Photos? Let us know your thoughts in a comment below.
