Windows Story Remix feature now available for Everyone!

Remember couple of week ago Microsoft renamed the Photos app and later on revert back to it’s original name with another update? We thought that Microsoft was building a standalone app for Story Remix. But NO!

Right now Microsoft rolling out a server side update which enables Windows Story Remix features. The update is rolling out to Windows 10 users on production ring. We expected that this feature will arrive with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. But some reason Microsoft rolling out the update earlier.

This server side update didn’t renamed the app. Just added the Story Remix feature. In case if you are wondering you won’t see update in Windows Store. However company haven’t made an announcement nor posted anything regarding this on social media. So this could be a mistake, it could be intentional. Whatever it is we will soon know about it.

If you are not familiar with Windows Story Remix then it’s a modern version of Windows Movie maker. It allow users to create a short video clip right from existing photos and videos. User will also able to add different cinematic transitions effects, text, motion, soundtracks, themes, 3D objects and more.

Though Microsoft is unable to implement the entire Windows Story Remix feature and some of it’s key functionality will be missing with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update such as 3D objects. Company is working on it and upcoming Windows 10 Insider Preview build for the Skip Ahead ring will include some more major features.
