Microsoft rolling out Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 15245 for the Windows Insider in the Fast Ring. The update brings dozens of new improvements and general fixes. But now Windows Insider in Fast Ring complaining that fingerprint reader is not working.

Fingerprint unlock functionality on devices like the HP Elite x3 and Alcatel Idol 4S is completely broken. And unlocking the phone manually of by typing password or by pressing switch in order to use Windows Hello become some what painful.

As Windows 10 Fall Creators Update near Microsoft decided not to mention Known issues in the upcoming Windows Insider Preview build change-log. Since they are releasing builds more quickly and working on to stabilize the OS that’s why they decided to do that. However they also explained that if build include any major issue they will mention it.

But company haven’t made any announcement yet nor updated the change-log ‘yet’. Take a note that fingerprint readers works very well, only when you manually wake phone’s screen. But what will be the point of fingerprint reader then?

So we are recommending users that do not install Windows 10 Mobile Build 15245 on HP Elite x3 and Alcatel Idol 4 Pro devices. Specially talking about Alcatel Idol 4 Pro there is no recovery images available now. So you can’t even roll back to production ring. So it would be better to stay away with this build.

And most of the Windows Insider builds don’t include any major bugs. Is fingerprint reader broken on your device? Let us know in a comment below. Stay tune to Insiders Arena for more updates.
