WhatsApp has released a new update to the WhatsApp Beta app for Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile devices. With the latest update the app bumped out to the latest version 2.17.234. Update doesn’t carry any notable new features nor any major improvements.
As usual the app received the general bug fixes in the latest update. But we found something interesting in this update. In latest update user can’t add a check mark (yes that green check-mark symbol) to their user name. Well at first attempt it looks like bug. But we did some digging and..?
A while ago, we heard that WhatsApp is planning to build a separate app for the business users. It will have some extra add-ons which help a firm to grow and enhance their business and reach out to every user in the community.
An app called Small and Medium Business will be soon available for Android, iOS and Windows Phone platforms (I believe). Maybe that disallowing check mark in username might be a sign of adding authentication or verified account/community. The new app will encourage business users to use WhatsApp as a communicating platform with their customers.
However, regular WhatsApp users will be able to communicate with businesses from the mainstream WhatsApp app. While in other hand business-WhatsApp app will have some kinds of restrictions, such as not being able to change their name, being required to specify a website and/or email address in their profile, some spamming controls and much more.
Though, right now not much information available. We will soon hear more regarding this from the company. Stay tune to Insiders Arena for more update. You can download or update from here via Windows Store.
