Skype UWP updated with improved design and new sharing experience in Windows 10


One and half months ago Microsoft announced refreshed version of Skype. The new Skype have lots of new cool features and improvements. It’s like a whole new avatar of Skype. Last month company already rolled out this new version of Skype for the Android and iOS users.

And now looks like company focusing on the Skype UWP app. Microsoft rolling out a new update to the Skype UWP app for the Windows Insider in the Release Preview Ring for both PC and Mobile. The new update bring major design improvements along with couple of new features. In the latest update of app they removed the hamburger menu. New design looks a lot like to the Skype for Windows (win32) app.

Furthermore they rearranged the user profile picture, settings, profile details and all other settings. Find new contact and number pad also get UI tweaks and they are also improved. In addition they added a whole new Skype sharing support in the app. You can now share anything (including links, mail, webpage from edge and more) in Skype from any apps in a conversation or group.

Here take a note that there is no glimpse of the Project NEON in the app yet. Though company already aware of it and we’ll soon see Project NEON effects in the app. And in case if you are wondering “Highlights” (story like feature) is not available in the app yet. It will take time to arrive in the app; maybe after Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
