A new update is rolling out to the People app for all Windows 10 users. The update brings many new features and significant change to the interface of the app.

Latest update pushes the app to new version 10.3.3472.0. This is the same update which was pushed out to Windows Insiders in Fast Ring couple of weeks ago and it is rolling out to the production ring users.

Sadly the update removed the fluent design elements from the app. The tittle bar now featuring your accent colour. Overall typography in the app also tweaked. You will now find email address and Telephone numbers next to the contact names on the Home page of the application.

Hamburger menu now has 2 new options namely “New Contact” and “Filter Contact”. Furthermore, search bar has also been improved; it will now shows contacts depending on the search directly in a drop-down search column, rather than filtering the results in the main window. Performance of the filter has also been improved.

Apart from the major new features and new interface the update also brings bug fixes and performance improvements to the application. Maybe in future Microsoft will bring back the Fluent Design element effects to the app.

On two of our machine we are unable to download the update. Microsoft Store keep showing “Code: 0x80246019” error on both devices. This might be just a temporary server side issue, Microsoft will fix it as soon as possible. You can go ahead and get the latest update of People app from here via Microsoft Store.
