Earlier this month at Build 2017 event Microsoft announced that the Office apps will soon be available in the Windows Store. Though these apps will only be available for the light weighted version of Windows 10, Windows 10 S which was announced last month.

When company announced that they are bringing the Office apps to Windows Store they didn’t mention any date or timeline. But now the office apps popping up in the search results. But take a note that you can’t install any apps now even you can’t view their listing just yet. For example if you search for “Excel 2016” the Excel Office app will show up in search result. But when you click on the app and try to install it won’t work.

In case if you don’t know Microsoft already removed the Office Mobile apps form the search result in Windows Store. So of course they are planning to launch Office apps as soon as possible.

Is it possible that the company could announce them at today’s event in Shanghai where they also expected to launch the new Surface device along with the Microsoft Modern keyboard with finger print reader.
