Multi-step interactivity in toast notifications will arrive with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update


Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to gets couple of more enhanced features. Along with the interactive Cortana and all new Fluent Design System; Microsoft working on to bring a multi-step interactive toast notifications with the Fall Creators Update.

The latest Windows Insider preview build 16215 for the Fast Ring gets tons of new features and improvements. It also bring the improved transparent design for Action Center. And now company working on to bring the Multi-step interactivity in toast notifications.

Basically this new interactive notifications will allow users to perform various task right from the notification itself without opening the apps. For example, the alarm notification right now have 2 buttons snooze and done. Okay for Complete button, but when user click on snooze it will open the app and let user to choose snooze time. But with this multi-step interactive notification things will be different.

Though another possibility as per the expatiation from Microsoft is the multi-step interactive notifications would work via background tasks created by an app. When you get an interactive notification from an app, clicking a button will trigger the respective background app task which will perform respective operation.

Currently this feature is under development and had a milestone of Fall Creators Update. But it will be available for the Windows Insiders in upcoming preview builds. Well of course developers need to wait for the official SDK release. Stay tune to Insiders Arena for more updates.
