After Google and Apple, Microsoft is internally working on an improved Bluetooth pairing experience. This whole new Bluetooth device pairing experience internally known as “Quick Pair”. And the first glimpse of it already show up in the Windows 10 Redstone 4 Insider Preview Build.

This new quick pair experience will automatically show a pop up notification asking user to connect the device. All you have to do is just bring the Bluetoot device closer to Windows 10 device. No need to press and hold any button andĀ setting up the device. (So, all those manuals will be officially useless! Phew!)

Obviously, this will save a lot of time specially when you lost your manual and looking for a tutorial on “Connect a Bluetooth audio device to Windows 10?”. In case if you missed it while ago Google announced similar feature for the Android 6.0 and above devices. And not to mention the headphone ditcher Apple also introduced same feature along with the Airpods in order to speed up connection between Bluetooth devices.

However, right now it’s unclear that how Microsoft will introduce this feature. Will it be available for all the Windows 10 devices or just Microsoft branded devices like Surface Keyboard and Mouse, Xbox Controllers. But what we know so far is that it will be part of the next Windows 10 iteration aka Windows 10 Redstone 4 which is scheduled for early 2018. We’ll soon hear more details about it in upcoming month.
