Microsoft to launch Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint Reader


Microsoft was working on a modern keyboard and registered a patent of it a while ago. And it also got verification from the FCC (Federal Communications Commission). One of the very exciting thing about this keyboard is that it will have fingerprint reader.

Microsoft already launched couple of keyboard under the Surface brand but non of them have fingerprint reader. But this new Modern Keyboard will have it. It is also a wireless one. As per the documentation of product on FCC website the keyboard will also have a wired mode which will allows you to be connected via USB cable.

Furthermore, the document also reveal that the Modern Keyboard will also have a rechargeable battery rather than having AA cells. The Bluetooth certification of product reveal that the product is registered under “Microsoft Modern Keyboard with Fingerprint ID”. You can find detailed information about the Modern Keyboard at the Bluetooth certification and the FCC certification.

Recently we heard that Xbox will also get support for the keyboard and mouse. Maybe company could demonstrate it with this Modern Keyboard at Shanghai event which is scheduled for May 23.
