Microsoft releases “Over-the-cable” Updater tool to update ALIVE Windows phones

Even if the Windows Phone is dead in everyone’s eye, Microsoft still committed to the platform. Microsoft already revealed that they will continue pushing out the security updates and bug fixes to Windows Phone.

Normally in order to update mobile OS company roll out over the air update but Microsoft is trying another way to deliver the update. Microsoft released a new tool which helps users to keep the device up to date called “Over-the-cable updater”. This tool works for both Windows Phone 8.1 or Windows 10 Mobile.

All user have to do is just install the new “Over-the-cable updater” tool on Windows PC. Then connect your ALIVE Windows Phone to PC via USB cable and follow onscreen instructions to install the latest software update. If you haven’t updated your device for a while then don’t worry this tool will work as expected. One of the biggest advantage of using this tool is that instead of installing updates one by one, this tool will directly take your phone to the latest OS build.

In order to use Over-the-cable updater all you need is a PC running Windows 8.1/Windows 10 OS and NET 4.0 installed. However the user interface of the tool is not friendly, hopefully company will improve it over the time. And we are also hearing report that company is also bringing the support for the HoloLense. Go ahead and download the tool from here and let us know your experience in a comment below.
