Microsoft rolling out an update for the Outlook Mail and Calendar app for Windows 10 devices. Apart from the general fixes and performance improvements Outlook Calendar received Microsoft To-Do integration with latest update.
User can now easily switch between the To-Do and Calendar app. In addition Microsoft To-Do also receiving the update but doesn’t include any notable new changes. Microsoft has been testing To-Do integration in Outlook Calendar with Windows Insider for a a while now. And finally it is available for every user.
User will see “To-Do” option under that drop up menu in Outlook Calendar app. However I can’t see this feature on any of my Lumia device. As reported by All About Windows Phone even if you have the new update installed you might not see this To-Do option in menu. Since this is the server side update so it will take several hours or days or week to show up for every users.
This integration only allow users to switch between apps nothing more. In future we would like to see some real integration of To-Do in Outlook Calendar. For example show every to-do in the Outlook calendar as event with respective to due date. Add combine notification, allow user to export Outlook events or task into To-Do and more.
Maybe in future we will see real integration rather than just switching app. It is really great to see that Microsoft still bring new feature in the first party app. And in case if you don’t know Microsoft has planned to drop support for Windows 10 Mobile at the the end of 2018. Is Windows 10 Mobile still your primary device?
