Microsoft announces General availability of Azure App Service on Linux and Web App for Containers

In order to let developer quickly build, deploy and scale applications without having to maintain the underlying web servers or operating systems, Microsoft announces general availability of Azure App service on Linux along with its Web App for Containers capability.

The Web App container offers Azure now offers built-in image support for ASP.NET Core, Node.js, PHP and Ruby on Linux. They also added ability let developer use their own Docker formatted container images supporting Java, Python, Go and more. Using various pre-built package available in Azure Marketplace, you can set a web site with popular CMS (WordPress, Joomla and Drupal) within few clicks.
