LinkedIn a business- and employment-oriented social networking service owned by Microsoft, has officially announced native video support worldwide.
The company has been testing this feature with random users since last month and now it is finally available for everyone. This feature works as you would expect, user can upload a video through LinkedIn mobile apps or via web interface. Videos can run up to 10 minutes; no size restriction.
In order to post a video from your mobile device hit the share box at the top of your feed on iOS device or hit Post button on Android device. Then you will find a video icon right there. The app also allows you to record a video or you can upload any existing video from the library.
Just like Facebook also in LinkedIn videos will play automatically without sound in your timeline. Of course you will find an option in settings where you can disable auto-play videos in your timeline.
Apart from views, like, share and comment; LinkedIn also offers information about viewers like the companies where they work and their job title. There will be a new section called “Audience Insights” on your dashboard where you can find other information about the video and activities on it. This statics will helps you in different ways. (for example, to target specific audience who is watching your video from a particular industry)
Take a note that; this is the server side update, so you might not see this option right away. It would take couple of week to roll out globally.
