Guest Access feature is coming to Microsoft Teams

Just a week ago Microsoft update Microsoft Teams with some collaborative features for Office 365 Education users. And now we are hearing that they are working on few more exiting feature for Microsoft Teams.

Apart from the more customization and personalization features company is working on some user requested feature. Company is working on Guest Access feature in the Microsoft Teams. The “Guest Access” feature will allow admin to gives an access to users who are not part of the organization. A guest will also able to communicate and interact with organization in different way.

Of course there will be some limit or expiry date for such users, which will prevent user to login and interact after certain time period. Currently company is testing this feature internally. There is no information about when it will be ready for public release. As per the report company is facing some big issues with implementation of this feature. A guest user is able to access every part of the company’s data including private documents and one is also able to send message to anyone.

However company will soon fix this issue. We are expecting that company will include this feature with next major update to Microsoft Teams. The next major update is scheduled for October 2017 which will include many new features and enhancement. You can find more details about it from here.

It’s less than a year since company introduced Microsoft Teams and it’s giving tough competition to it’s competitor Slack. However since Microsoft Teams require Office 365 subscription while on other hand you can enjoy every major feature in Slack for free. But still I gotta have to say Slack have a pretty good competitor in market. Stay tune to Insiders Arena for more updates.
