So, Today is the day! Microsoft to roll out 4th Windows 10 major update aka the Fall Creators Update worldwide on October 17, 2017. The Fall Creators Update includes tons of new features and hundreds of enhancement in Edge, Cortana, new Action center and more.

More than 400 million users are using Windows 10 so it is pretty oblivious that not every users will get this major update as soon as the roll out begun. Yep, just like previous major update Microsoft plans to roll out Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709) gradually. In other words it won’t arrive on every device on day one. It will take up to days, weeks or even months. But…? I assume that you are one of those who don’t want to wait for that. So, here are the 4 official ways that you can get Windows 10 Fall Creators Update ASAP.

1. How to get Fall Creators Update with Windows Update

Obviously you might tried this. But for those you didn’t tried this. Go to the Settings app > Update & Security > Windows Update. And hit that “Check for update” button. This is the first official way to get the update. And In case if you missed it Microsoft introduced Unified Update Platform (UUP) for Windows 10. This new platform will makes updates up to 35 percent smaller and faster to install, and overall upgrade process will be smoother and faster than ever.

2. The Windows update Assistant

There might be the number of reason why your device is not showing the update even if it is compatible for the update. In that case Windows 10 Update Assistant got your back.

Go ahead and download the updated Windows 10 Update Assistant from Microsoft website by hitting the Update now button and fire it up. Then hit Update Now button to download the update. Once the download is finished click the Restart Now button to start the installation. Don’t worry all your apps, files, folders and even sticky notes will be right there where you left them.

3. Media Creation Tool

Microsoft offers the Media Creation Tool which allows you to perform a clean installation of Windows 10 manually. However we are expecting that it won’t be available as for today. It will take time to make new releases available using this tool. You can get the Media creation tool and perform a clean install on your device or create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD or ISO) to update another PC.

4. Windows Insider Program

Not the best choice but still. If none of above mentioned way didn’t work out for you then join Windows Insider Program and get the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update on your computer before anyone else. Of course the update is already available for all 3 rings. Though as long as you are installing on your primary device it would be so much better if you choose Release Preview Ring with minimal risks and without having to reinstall the OS if later on you want leave the Insider Program.
